Back From Holiday
Hope your holiday was a splendid one. Here are some highlights from mine:
- I was fortunate enough not to have to drive this holiday–we were traveling in the company of Dave and Danielle, which afforded me plenty of time to check out Chrono Trigger for the DS. It’s pretty much as I remember it, which is a good thing. If you never got a chance to play it on the Super Nintendo, pick it up.
- My brother and I spent several hours getting stuck in with Left 4 Dead. With his help I finished up all four campaigns, and I introduced him to multiplayer. The TV was a little small, but we made due. In fact, we were enjoying shooting up zombies so much, that my dad gave thanks for it at the Thanksgiving dinner table the next night! I wish more of my friends around here were playing it, but I still have Dover and crew for now.
- Amazon.com has some unbelievable deals over Black Friday. They pretty much outdid any of the big box retailers, by not only matching what they were doing but then adding further discounts on AAA titles. I managed to get some family shopping done, while also scoring Burnout Paradise, Resistance: Fall of Man, and the Korg DS10 synthesizer at ridiculous prices. While most of their best deals are gone, Amazon is doing a “15 days/15 deals” promotion on video games. A new deal comes up every day at 3 a.m. est.
- Speaking of the Korg DS 10, I was playing around on it tonight, and I’ve been pretty stoked. I want to see if I can use it live one weekend. How cool would it be to bust out a DS and start freestyling with the stylus?
Prince of Persia is out this week, but I think I’m going to hold off and rent it. If anyone has picked it up, let me know what you think.
Other than that, it’s back to work. I’ve been busy catching up so far, so not much time for games. Netflix is also taking up a good chunk of my time, so we’ll see what happens. I have Meta Cafe this Friday night, so I’ll get some good Rock Band/Geometry Wars 2/etc. time in, but other than that, my weekend is already filling up.
So how about you–what did you play this Thanksgiving holiday?

Finished up Fable 2 and got a good ways into IU. On top of all the Warhammer Madness going on with the live event.

Played through the single player campaign of the new call of duty on a tiny screen as well. game is pretty much awesome, much grittier then cod4. Recently addicted to Keflings… so relaxing and fun at the same time!

I tried Left 4 Dead offline co-op. It was fun, though not as fun as 4-player co-op.
I’ve been playing NCAA Football 08 almost exclusively. Since my team, Bama, has a shot at being SEC champion and even national champion this year, I’ve had football pumping through my veins lately. Roll Tide!
If you see me playing football or something, feel free to interrupt so we can play Left 4 Dead. I’ve seen Dover and others online, but I was hoping we could play with four players again.
